Spring 2022 Data Science Seminar Series: Fei Tong & Abhishek Shrivastava: Data Science at Capital One

Fei Tong is Director of Data Science in Capital One Data Insights, leading the data science team, managing some of the platform commercialization go-to-market product dependencies and also helping oversee the machine learning algorithm governance process for Data Insights platform. Fei joined Capital One in 2011, and held various roles in home loan and auto loan businesses within the financial services division as a data analyst and a data scientist. She has a wealth of data science experience leading Account Level Valuation, Recruitment Strategy and in 2021 assumed her current role in Capital One Data Insights. Fei holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University, China, and a Master of Science in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Fei is based in Plano, Texas, where she lives with her husband and two kids.

Abhishek Shrivastava is a Senior Manager of Data Science at Capital One. He leads the auto refinance data science team, which supports marketing, credit, digital products, and operations for the auto refinance business. Abhishek joined Capital One in 2017, and held various roles, from building models to support business decisions, to building reusable products and platforms. Prior to Capital One, Abhishek has held faculty positions at Florida State University and City University of Hong Kong. He earned his B.Tech. in industrial engineering from IIT Kharagpur, India, and his Ph.D from the Industrial & Systems Engineering Department at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas
