Texas A&M Big Data Workshop – Data Driven Discovery

The Texas A&M Institute of Data Science is sponsoring the 3rd Texas A&M Big Data Workshop. The workshop will be held on Friday, April 20 in the Hawking Auditorium of the Mitchell Physics Building. A primary aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers interested in data driven discovery, in order to promote interdisciplinary research collaborations. Following the pattern of earlier events, speakers will give short talks, arranged in thematic sessions, with plenty of time for discussion. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

We hereby invite Texas A&M faculty, researchers, and investigators to submit a talk title and abstract. Any aspect of Big Data—broadly understood as systems, methods and applications of data science in which in which at least one aspect is challenging, be it in volume, veracity, velocity, or variety—is in scope. The talk slides will be made available through the workshop website.

In the spirit of fostering collaborations amongst the Texas A&M Big Data community, we hope that everyone will have an opportunity to speak. If demand for speaking slots exceeds supply, the organizers will distribute available slots across different Texas A&M organizations. Priority will be given to people who did not speak at the previous workshops. There will be two types of talk:

10-minute talks

2-minute talks arranged in a “madness” session.
