What is Digital Accessibility?
Digital accessibility means designing digital content such as websites, apps, and documents so that people with disabilities are able to interact with and navigate them using assistive technology like screen readers without any barriers. These practices are important for creating an inclusive digital experience for all.
Under the recent Title II revision, Texas A&M University is requiring compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for all web content and mobile apps. The Texas A&M Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) has compiled several resources to help you create accessible content that follows these guidelines. These resources cover accessibility tools in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Canvas, and PDF creation. There are also workshops and departmental trainings offered by CTE that provide more details on digital accessibility.
Please visit CTE’s website to view the full list of available resources, workshops, and trainings.
