Innovative AI Tools and Resources Showcase
August 19, 2025 @ 9:00 am – 1:30 pm

Location: Chevron Rooms 299, Zachry Building
Date: August 19, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM
This showcase is a community-based event for faculty, staff, and upper-level graduate students to learn about new AI resources. Expert speakers will be sharing tools they have used to improve their teaching and research, and will lead discussions on their potential applications to your own work!
This will be an “unconference-style” event. Some of us a very familiar with unconferencing, whereas others may be novices. This format is a participant-oriented meeting that promotes discussions and engagement.
The agenda is still in development, but more details will be coming very soon!
The session will begin with brief two-slide (or so) idea pitches, followed by topical stations where interactions and spirited conversations take place. The tentative order for speakers:
- Welcome (Krishna Narayanan, Jean-Francois Chamberland)
- Brief Remarks from Arul Jayaraman, Executive Associate Dean of the Texas A&M University College of Engineering
- Sunay Palsole, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Engineering Remote Education
- Sabit Ekin, TAMIDS Research Coordination Fellow
- Michael Moore, Instructional Associate Professor, Computer Science & Engineering
- Haejune Kim, Instructional Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering
- Ali Mostafavidarani, Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering
- Siddharth Misra, Associate Professor, Petroleum Engineering
This will be followed by topical stations where interactions and spirited conversations take place. We will have four topical stations (plus a parking lot):
- AI Landscape & AI Education
- Undergraduate Students – Classroom & Curricula
- Graduate Students – Education and Research
- The Role of Faculty in AI World
- Parking – Valuable, yet unsolicited ideas.
Lunch will be provided.
