Join us for a FREE one-day learning workshop that delves into the fascinating world of generative AI, with a special focus on large language models. This comprehensive event will start with an exploration of the history, theory, and evolution of generative AI, providing participants with a solid foundation in machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing. Attendees will then get hands-on experience with key technologies, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and using cutting-edge AI models.
Event Details:
The workshop is open to students, staff, and faculty from Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), Texas Southern University (TSU), and Texas A&M University (TAMU). Please use your school email address when registering.
TAMIDS will provide lunch and refreshments throughout the day. All participants should bring a working laptop and have an active Google account for Google Co-lab. Python knowledge is preferred but not necessary.
This workshop is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to leverage generative AI in various applications, from content creation to conversational AI. Whether you’re new to the field or looking to deepen your understanding, this event offers valuable insights and practical tools to advance your expertise in generative AI.
Registration Deadline is Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 11:59 PM
Part 1: Background and Theory on Generative AI
Part 2: Applications and Hands-On Exercises
The workshop will include a lunch break and time to discuss various aspects of Generative AI with the workshop instructors. Please fill out the registration form and answer questions about your background in AI, interest in Generative AI, workshop expectations, and project or application ideas. This will help the instructors, Dr. Yalong Pi and Dr. Jian Tao, to personalize the workshop for attendees.
Visitors can park at the Gene Stallings Boulevard Garage and pay upon arrival or exit. For more information on rates and to view a map of visitor parking options, click here.
