Dr. Daniel Osorio, who recently graduated with PhD in the College of Vet Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) under the mentorship of Dr. James Cai, associate professor in the CVMBS Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences (VIBS), has received the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Research Fellowship to further his studies on the genetic drivers of breast cancer over the next 36 months in Norway.
Dr. Osorio received support from TAMIDS through two programs. In 2019, he was awarded a Data Science Graduate Travel Grant to support his participation in the Algorithms and Models for Single-Cell Genomics Conference at UC, Irvine. More recently, he received support through an award under the 2020 Data Resource Development Program to Dr. Cai for their work on Enabling single-cell data resource to TAMU investigators in interdisciplinary research. He had two papers published in 2020 resulting from his work.
