Lynn Vernon is the Chief Engineer for IT at NASA’s Johnson Space Center and assists in the development of strategies and processes that are used to manage the Johnson Space Center’s information technology systems and services. He also provides system engineering and strategic leadership to advance technology services and support NASA’s missions’ needs. Mr. Vernon has worked at NASA for over 30 years, holding multiple positions.

The NASA Space Act, originally enacted in 1958, provides the framework for NASA’s operations and partnerships. The Act emphasizes the importance of sharing and disseminating information. This act, and the associated provisions, ensure that NASA’s data contributes to scientific advancement and is accessible for various applications. This seminar will be a discussion of where NASA is going and some of the challenges of the evolution of data within the NASA missions and where it is evolving going forward. We will also discuss the role of Artificial Intelligence in the future of NASA’s missions.
