On behalf of Dr. Nick Duffield, Director for the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science and the entire TAMIDS team, we are excited to announce three new additions to the team!

Dr. Mohsen (Mo) Aghashahi joined the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science on February 16, 2022 as Postdoc Research Engineer. In this role, Mo will work on Urban Hydroinformatics. Through artificial intelligence, He will study water consumption data to make potable water more affordable, water distribution systems more efficient, and advance social justice. His work will liaison with water research institutes, water utilities, and industry partners to have practical and social impacts.
He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University (TAMU) in 2021, under Dr. M. Katherine Banks. Mo served as the ASCE Water Distribution Systems Analysis and Cybersecurity of Water Distribution Systems committees as chair and secretary from 2019 to 2021. He received a graduate teaching fellowship from the College of Engineering at TAMU in 2019 and the best poster award at the World Environmental and Water Resources Congress in 2017. Mo’s research interest is in smart water distribution systems focusing on advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) data analytics, anomaly detection, and data-driven cybersecurity.

Diego Rodriguez joined the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS) March 1, 2022, as Assistant Director for Educational Programs. In this new role, Diego will be responsible for the administrative oversight of TAMIDS educational programs in consultation with TAMIDS leadership. He will develop opportunities in for-credit education and workforce development, lead development and implementation of new programs including collaborations with other TAMU organizations, manage curriculum administration, and oversee operations including program reporting, records management, student advising, and admissions processes.
Prior to joining the Institute of Data Science, Diego served in several key positions such as the Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Director of Internships at a small liberal arts college in the Mid-West and also served as the Senior Program Manager at the NASA Langley Research Center, Education Lead at NASA Headquarters, and Program Manager at the NASA Johnson Space Center among others.
Outside of work, Diego enjoys spending time with his family, children, playing soccer, running marathons, and fishing.

Brandon Green joined the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS) March 1, 2022 as Assistant Director for Industry Engagement. In this new role, Brandon will work with the Director to formulate strategy for industry outreach and implement a program to recruit to industry partners and involve them with research and education at workforce development programs in TAMIDS and its Texas A&M partners and affiliates.
Brandon comes to us from TAMU Engineering where he has been part of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station’s Professional Education group. Before coming to TAMU 5 years ago, Brandon spent a variety of roles in Industry ranging from groups involved in education, entertainment, research as well as the medical community. Brandon obtained his undergraduate from Rice University and his Masters in Leadership in Higher Education from Pepperdine University.
Outside of work Brandon spends time with his 4 kids (Jackson 10, Olivia 8, Brody 6 & Guy 4) and wife Kara. Brandon enjoys sports and almost any outdoor activity. Brandon is a native Texan and has expressed his excitement to join the TAMIDS team in helping advance the mission of TAMIDS and the people we serve in the State of Texas.
