The Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS) is delighted to report that Dr. Yu Ding, Mike and Sugar Barnes Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering and TAMIDS Associate Director for Research Engagement, has received one of the highest awards bestowed upon a faculty member at Texas A&M University: The Association of Former Students Distinguished Achievement Award for Research.
Dr. Ding joined the TAMIDS leadership team with Dr. Nick Duffield, TAMIDS Director and TEES Research Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Dr. Jianhua Huang, TAMIDS Associate Director for Education and Arseven/Mitchell Chair in Astronomical Statistics in the Department of Statistics, in January 2020. Since this time he has successfully lead TAMIDS activities in supporting and promoting the growth and impact of interdisciplinary Data Science research at Texas A&M.
