SUMMARY:HPRC/TAMIDS Tech Talk
DESCRIPTION:AMReX: A Performance Portable Software Framework for Adaptive Mesh Refinement Applications\n\n\n\nAbstract: AMReX is an open-source high-performance software framework for building massively parallel\, performance-portable\, block-structured adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) applications on a variety of architectures. Key features of AMReX include AMR\, particles\, embedded boundary\, linear solvers\, parallel FFT\, and performance portability. AMReX is used by a wide range of multiphysics applications\, including many DOE-funded projects\, such as multiple ECP-funded and SciDAC-funded efforts\, as well as numerous applications in academia and industry. Recently\, the AMReX project has joined the High Performance Software Foundation\, part of the Linux Foundation\, further strengthening its long-term sustainability. \n\n\n\nBLOCKER 220 | 2-3 pm CT \n\n\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting ID: 943 3658 1991 Passcode: 905809 or via the link. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeiqun Zhang\, Computer Systems Engineer\n\n\n\nDr. Weiqun Zhang is a Senior Computing Engineer in the Applied Mathematics and Computational Research Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He has a Ph.D. degree in Astrophysics from the University of California\, Santa Cruz. He is the lead software architect of AMReX\, a software framework for supporting block-structured adaptive mesh refinement applications\, initially funded by the Department of Energy’s Exascale Computing Project. His primary interest is the development of high-performance computing software. His current projects include developing and maintaining AMReX\, particle accelerator and inertial fusion energy modeling\, and algorithm driven co-design of specialized architectures for energy efficient HPC. \n\n\n\n\n\nHosted by TAMIDS Digital Twin Lab and HPRC
