      4. CompTIA Data+ Certification

      Exam Preparation

Data professionals are in high demand, with CompTIA Data+ certified professionals earning an average salary of $110,000. The CompTIA Data+ (V2) certification validates the ability to analyze data, apply data-driven decision-making, and manage data lifecycles—skills essential for organizational competitiveness. Covering core concepts in data analysis, visualization, governance, and statistics, Data+ provides early-career professionals with a strong entry point into analytics while giving working professionals a recognized credential to formalize and strengthen their data expertise.

The Texas A&M Institute of Data Science has partnered with the one and only Jason Dion to help deliver content and keep you engaged as you achieve your learning objectives. Jason has trained over 200,000 students worldwide in cybersecurity, information technology, data analytics, and project management. He has a talent for making complicated concepts easy to understand, engaging, and even fun.

Stand out to employers as you solve real-world challenges and help your organization make smarter, data-driven decisions! The objective of this course is to prepare you to pass the Data+ certification exam with confidence and to gain the skills you need to level up your career. Successful completion of the course will also earn you 1.4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from Texas A&M University Continuing and Professional Education.

      About the Course

Pass the CompTIA Data+ certification exam with confidence! This course will prepare you to understand core concepts and environments, analyze and interpret data using basic statistical methods, and apply data governance and quality controls to create meaningful visualizations to communicate insights.

      What the Exam CoversFive Areas

      1. Data Concepts and Environments
      2. Data Mining
      3. Data Analysis
      4. Visualization
      5. Data Governance, Quality, and Controls

      Target Audience

      • Working professionals who use data to inform business, operational, or policy decisions
      • Analysts, project managers, program managers, and team leads seeking to strengthen foundational data literacy
      • Industry and government professionals who want to validate their data skills with an industry-recognized certification
      • Organizations looking to upskill employees in data concepts, analysis, visualization, and governance
      • Career changers seeking to transition into data-focused roles
      • Undergraduate and graduate students who want to build practical data competencies and earn the CompTIA Data+ certification before entering the workforce

      How it Works

This is a self-paced, asynchronous course where you can come and go as your schedule allows.

The course includes approximately 19 short and easy-to-follow modules with videos and notes that cover concepts step by step. Short assessments at the end of each module check your knowledge and reinforce learning. You will also have the opportunity to practice what you learn through hands-on exercises and practice questions designed to mirror the CompTIA Data+ exam experience. Major objectives are assessed at the end of the learning modules, with dedicated exam-preparation materials to ensure you are ready to succeed.

Your training administrator instructor, De’Ambra Harmon, will facilitate, encourage, help, and ensure that you finish what you started. Finally, once you are ready, we will issue you a voucher to take the CompTIA Data+ exam at a certified testing location or through online proctoring.
